Centerpiece Mock-Ups

Half of the tables will have candle centerpieces made from a class vase, green seaglass, a pillar candle, and seashells from the dollar store. The other half of the tables will have wooden ships from a local souvenir shop. The tables will also be decorated with artificial starfish, artificial coral, and the table numbers I made from seashells I picked up from a local beach.

Each table will have an ivory table cloth and ivory napkins supplied by the venue. To break up the ivory, we are going to put plum satin overlays on each guest table. We will also be using plum napkins on the head table.

Cake Table

Picture
Our wedding cake will be very similar to the one pictured to the left, only our cake will be hexagonal in shape and stacked "off center." The cake will be frosted with ivory buttercream and decorated with sugar seashells and starfish. We will also have a groom's cake, to honor Tom's southern roots. His cake will be a single tier hexagon frosted with chocolate fudge buttercream and sugar seashells. Our baker is providing us with a silver cake stand to display the wedding cake, she will also decorate the cake table with brown sugar "sand". We wanted to top our cake with a monogram, and I found this one at Michael's that happens to very closely match the "L" I used on our monogram on our stationary. I like how it looks like brushed silver with only a few sparkles. Tom and I decided to splurge a little on our serving set, so we purchased "Anastasia" from Things Remembered. We decided to only personalize the server, so the knife is blank. Coincidentally, my mother and step-father used the same set at their wedding several years ago, so we inadvertently started a family tradition at the same time.

Escort Card Table

I purchased a pack of "print your own" escort cards from Michael's. They are ivory with a pearl border. I'm going to print them with the same font that I used on all of the wedding stationary. Each escort card will be attached to an artificial starfish. To finish off the table I am going to have a floating candle centerpiece that uses some of the extra seashells I have.

Guestbook Table

Tom and I found a purple model sailboat online, and we couldn't resist, so we ordered it. My mom is going to paint our last name at the bow of the boat as the boat's "name" and our wedding date that the stern for it's registration numbers. Our guestbook table will also have our photo guestbook, that I made on shutterfly with our engagement pictures.
