Favors

Picture
We put a lot of thought into our wedding favors. We wanted to give something to our guests that would be easy to travel with, as the majority of our guests will be from out of town. We also wanted something that our guests would want to keep. For our favor, half of our guests will receive a purple votive with a vanilla scented candle, the other half will receive a frosted glass votive with a lavender scented candle. Each candle is going to be wrapped with a personalized match book in a cellophane bag with a purple ribbon and a tag. Tom and I will be using any leftovers to decorate our home.

I made these on vistaprint with the "free business cards." I custom designed them by making a design that is four times larger than the actual business card template provided by the site. I am really impressed with the final product, the colors are really rich and the text is clear and crisp. I am going to punch a hole in the top left corner of each tag to attach the tags to my favors

Personalized Matchbooks

These are going to be wrapped with our candles. I wanted to add some type of personalization to our favors for guests that wanted the keepsake. For guests that don't, they can unwrap the candle for use in their home, and use the matches for whatever.

Kid's Favors

We have a number of children on our guest list, and we did not feel comfortable giving matchbooks and candles to little kids, so we decided to have a special favor for the little ones. Each child will receive a purple swirl pop, personalized with our names and date. I'm going to decorate the lollipops with some ribbon.

Bathroom Baskets

Picture
I actually got this idea from other Knotties on the DIY board. In each bathroom I am going to have a basket of trial-sized items that guests can use "just in case". Next to each basket is going to be the cute little poem I have pictured in a 5x7 frame. I plan on purchasing my frames and baskets at the dollar store and trial sized items at a local discount store, so this is really just a cute little project to help the guests feel all the more spoiled. This is what I plan on putting in my baskets...

Out-of-Town Bags

The majority of our guests will be travelling from out-of-state in order to attend our wedding. We want our guests to feel comfortable during their stay in Maine, so I have decided to put together out-of-town bags to distribute to guests that are utilizing the room blocks that we set up. Each bag will contain a welcome brochure with a welcome note from me an Tom and a listing of various restaurants and attractions in the area, as well as a postcard with directions to the ceremony venue, salt water taffy, Poland Spring water, LL Bean catalog, brochures to area attractions, Maine visitors guide, street maps, and coupons to the local take-out restaurants.
